Merle LeRoy Schimke, 93 years old, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024.  He is preceded by Rae Paula (wife), Franklin LeRoy (son) and Weston K. Pangborn (great grandchild).  He left behind daughters Sandra L. Hermann, Susan A. Pangborn (husband Thomas), Jean M. Bruno (husband James) and Jane E. Schimke (significant other Kevin). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Merle served in the United States Navy, then made a career as a Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff where he retired and relocated to Florida. Merle was a loving husband and father with a contagious sense of humor.  Merle embraced everyone and made sure they were taken care of.  He will be deeply missed.

He is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
