Merrill Evan Cobb, 85 New Smyrna Beach FL died Friday, June 18, 2010. Merrill was born in Lincoln, Maine. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Radioman 2nd Class. He then earned his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Maine and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts. Merrill served as Superintendent of Schools in Littleton, Massachusetts with 35 years of service. He then served as Professor of Education at University of Maine. He and his wife retired to Florida coming to New Smyrna Beach in 1997 from Haines City.   He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years Wilma, daughters Jane Fronk of Sacramento, CA, Patricia Howard of New Smyrna Beach, a son Stephen Cobb of New Smyrna Beach, brother Floyd Cobb of Lee, ME, seven grandchildren Todd Pressley, Seth Pressley, Alison Fronk, Ryan Howard, Amy Pixton, Emily Colon, Jaysen Cobb and seven great grandchildren Hali, Devon, Aidee, Darek, Emma, Matthew and Owen.
