Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Adam Butler, a beloved son, brother, husband, and father, who left this world on September 6, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on June 12, 1982, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Michael's journey through life was marked by his unwavering faith, boundless love, and a passion for the mechanical wonders of the world.

Michael was a cherished son to John Marion Butler and Deborah Butler (Craig), and a devoted brother to John Butler. Growing up just 18 months apart, Michael and John shared an inseparable bond, filled with memories of little league games, park adventures, and moments spent within their church community. Their childhood in Erie was one of laughter, friendship, and brotherly love, with John serving as Michael's unwavering protector and confidant.

A proud graduate of McDowell High School, Michael pursued further education at trade school, where he honed his skills and discovered his passion for electronics. This passion led him to a fulfilling career as an electrician and maintenance supervisor, roles in which he excelled thanks to his mechanical mind and dedication to his craft.

Michael's spiritual journey began at the First Assembly of God in Erie, where he was baptized at the age of 11. Throughout his life, he found solace and spiritual guidance within the walls of 10th Street United Methodist Church and later, Integrity Church. His faith in God was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and comfort.

In Naples, Florida, Michael met the love of his life, Gladys, affectionately known as Yayi. Their union was blessed with the birth of their son, Alexander, in 2012. Alexander quickly became the light of Michael's heart, and the bond they shared was immeasurable and priceless. Michael's love for Alexander remains a testament to his boundless capacity for love and devotion. Though Michael was predeceased by his sons, Michael and Joshua, who were lost during pregnancy, his spirit and love continue to shine brightly in Alexander's life.

Michael will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious smile, and the ability to light up any room he entered. His essence lives on in those fortunate enough to have known him, as a guardian angel watching over his beloved Alexander and all who cherished him.

Michael Adam Butler's life was a testament to love, faith, and the beauty of connection. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
