Michael Anthony Curry was born in Portland, Maine in 1952. He graduated from South Portland High School, the University of Southern Maine, and the Maine State Police Academy. He was an officer in the South Portland Police Department leaving as a detective to go into TV news at WCSH. Michael started as a videographer and retired as a Vice President and News Director of both NBC affiliates in Maine, WCSH and WLBZ. He was proud of the fact that his station were first in the ratings all the time that he was news director.

In 2008 he moved to The Villages for the golf, which he loved and to get out of the snow, which he didn't love. Besides golf, Michael loved to travel. He and his wife of forty years, Karen Morrison Curry travel to all seven continents after his retirement. Some of the best memories were of being toe to toe with a penguin on land in Antarctica, walking on the Great Wall of China, being an arm's length from a gorilla in Rwanda, eating fettucine carbonara in Venice, and making wonderful friends. He also treasured the wonderful friends that he made in The Villages and in Maine.

On Michael's behalf, Karen wants to thank Dr. Fawole, his wonderful staff at FCS, especially Jessie, for all the wonderful care and compassion that they showed to Michael. It was greatly appreciated.
