Michael Glander, a loving husband, father, and son, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 9th, 2024, at his home in Ocala, Florida. He was 54 years old.
Born on January 11, 1970, in New Milford, Connecticut, Michael grew up with a passion for sports, particularly baseball. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed coaching his three sons in little league baseball.
Michael earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Eastern Connecticut State University, where he met his wife, Karen DeBoyes Glander. They shared a whirlwind romance and were soon married. Michael worked as an analyst for HPE for nearly 25 years, honing his skills as a SAS programmer.
In his free time, Michael loved to travel and explore new places, experience different cultures, and indulge in his passion for cooking. He also became an avid golfer after moving to Florida in 2020, taking great pride in beating his father-in-law, Bruce DeBoyes, on the course on several occasions.
Michael had a lifelong passion for politics and governmental history, and was a prolific writer.
Notably, he edited and published his mother's book, "Worm", after her passing, ensuring her legacy lived on.
Michael's generosity and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Michael is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen; their three sons, Ryan, Jeremy, and Jack; his brother, David, and his wife, Stephanie; and his grandparents, Maurice and Patricia Brandon.
