Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael (Mike) E. Granchi, who left us peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 82, in Fort Myers, Florida. Mike lived a life rich in adventure, passion, and unwavering team spirit.

Born in 1943, in Canton, Ohio, Mike's love for life was evident from a young age. After graduating from Walsh College, he embarked on a successful career with the IRS, but it was outside of work that his true passions shone brightest.

Mike cultivated a passion for travel early on. He cherished the opportunity to explore new cultures and landscapes, creating countless memories in destinations across the globe.

An avid golfer, Mike spent countless hours on the greens, always chasing that elusive hole-in-one. He cherished the camaraderie of his golf buddies as much as the challenge of the game itself. When he wasn't perfecting his swing, you could find him glued to the television, passionately cheering on his favorite sports teams. His loyalty to The Ohio State Buckeyes football team was unparalleled; Saturdays in the fall were sacred, filled with spirited cheers and hopeful anticipation. Mike's adventurous spirit, warm smile, and booming "O-H-I-O!" will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We take comfort in knowing he lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Toni Granchi; his children, Valerie (David) Cooper, Pamela (Gary) McClung and Amy (Michael) Graham; his seven grandchildren, his two sisters, Beverly Ridgway and Judy (Kurt) Moylan and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Violet Granchi and his brother Tim Granchi.

Visitation is scheduled at 11:00am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Florida. Mass will begin at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael's memory to Hope Hospice .
