Obituary

Michael Husway, 76, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on March 17, 2025.

Michael was born in Frackville, Pennsylvania, the son of Michael and Aldona Husway.  He was the husband of his beloved wife, Hoan Husway.

Michael graduated from Frackville High School, then went on to the Pennsylvania State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1971.  While at Penn State, Michael was a member of the Chess Team participating in intercollegiate tournaments.  Upon graduation, Michael worked for many years as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse, first in Pittsburgh and then in Orlando.  Michael loved the Orlando area and resided there for the last forty years.  In his earlier years, he traveled to many countries, including Spain, Italy and Peru.

Michael's niece and nephews fondly remember playing chess and board games with their Uncle Mike, even learning a few of his best chess moves.  In all games, he was very competitive!  Michael was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed pulling for his Penn State Nittany Lions.  He also enjoyed gardening and swimming, and became quite skilled in yoga in his later years.

Michael was a smart, kind and gentle man that will be greatly missed.

He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Aldona Husway; Sister, Dolores Covolesky, and Brother-in-Law, John Covolesky.  Surviving Michael are his wife, Hoan Husway (FL); Sister, Carol Luckenbill (PA); Niece, Kathleen Crockett, wife of John (TN); and Nephews, John Wolowski (CO), John Covolesky, husband of Gisella (FL), and Daniel Covolesky (PA).

Michael was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Burial will take place privately in Frackville, PA.
