Obituary

Michael Clay Lynch, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. He was born on January 6, 1959 in Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Mike grew up in the Greater Daytona Beach area and graduated from Spruce Creek High School in 1977. He pursued higher education at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida. He was a proud member of the Chi Phi Fraternity, like his father. Shortly after graduation he obtained his CPA license.

While Mike was educated in business, his heart belonged to music. His love of rock music began in high school, jamming with friends. Over the years, he shared his unique guitar style and vocals on stage with bands, Power Kor and the Emperor Napoleon & The Visions of Ecstasy, which included an album recording during their 14 years together. When he wasn't making music, Mike also found enjoyment in the tranquility of the beach.

Mike’s greatest legacy is the large, loving family he leaves behind.

He is survived by his mother, Charlotte (Bill) Rudy; stepmother, Sandy Lynch; sister, Diane (Lee) Steinhilber; half-sister, Ashleigh Lynch (Ted); stepbrother, Larry Wharton; children, Michael (Angie) Lynch, Jr., Matthew Lynch, Mark Lynch, Megan Lynch, Marlynda (Keith) McDonnell, and Susan (Chad) Audit; and many adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Irwin G. Lynch

Mike’s warm spirit, creative energy, and sense of humor will be missed.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, located at, 620 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, Florida 32127.
