Michael "Mike" Nuellen took the stairway to heaven on February 27, 2025, from Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on December 16, 1964, in Hinsdale, Illinois, Mike embraced life with a deep appreciation for nature and an open heart that left a lasting impact on those around him.

Mike attended Downers Grove South High School. His profession took him to locations around the country and world. St. Croix being one of his favorite locations. Whether he was casting a line into the water, nurturing a garden in full bloom, or simply soaking in the beauty of the natural world around him, Mike found solace and joy in the simple wonders of life. His free-spirited nature, infectious smile and heartfelt hugs were evident in his belief that God resided within his heart and that love, light, and energy were meant to be shared freely with others.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Mitchell) Wood and two grandsons Zander and Jasper of Kentucky; his brother, Rick Nuellen of Texas; and his sisters, Pam Smith, Cindy (Joe) Kliem, and Sandy Nuellen of Illinois.

Preceded in death by his father, James Nuellen, and his mother, Lorayne Pletting Beranek.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Illinois and Florida at a later date.

His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mike lived and loved by the philosophy that "We Are One," carrying kindness and warmth wherever he went. May his memory continue to inspire love and unity among those whose lives he touched.
