Michael J (Mickey) Pozega

Port Orange, FL – Michael (Mickey) Joseph Pozega, 79, passed away peacefully, April 2, 2020 at Halifax Health Medical Center Port Orange following a brief illness.

Mickey was born September 19, 1940 at home in Girard, OH, the son of Joseph and Mary (Rebracca) Pozega. He attended Girard High School where he graduated in 1958.

Following graduation, Mickey enlisted in the Navy, where he played baseball for three years. He was employed by Packard Electric for 27 years, retiring in 1997. Following his retirement, Mickey moved to Port Orange where he made his home with his brother Robert (Bird) Pozega.

Mickey enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Cavaliers and meeting friends at the poker room Daytona Beach where they played cards and shared stories.

Mickey is survived by a son, Michael Pozega (Cindy Rogers) of Girard, two daughters, Christine (Michael) Harper of Niles, Lisa Hudak of Avon, six grandchildren and one great grandson. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Bird) Pozega. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph Pozega.
