Obituary

Michael Ramer, 41, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, after a hard-fought fight with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly (Testa) Ramer, and his two children, Nathan (8) and Haley (5). He also leaves behind his parents, Eliot and Iris, his brother Neil, and a loving extended family.

Michael was born on April 13, 1983 in Highland Park, NJ, and after graduating from Highland Park High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hartford, followed by a Masters degree in School Counseling from Montclair State University.

Michael met Kim while working at Paychex, where he held multiple positions throughout his long tenure with the company. They were married on July 31, 2011, and after moving from New Jersey to Webster, NY, they welcomed their son, Nathan Elliot Ramer, on October 6, 2016, and daughter, Haley Nancy Ramer, on September 23, 2019. Michael and his family moved to Bonita Springs, FL, in 2021, where they embraced the sunshine and outdoor lifestyle. Nathan said, "I loved to snuggle with Daddy and really liked the Orlando City soccer games we'd go to together." Haley said, "I loved to swim in the pool with my daddy and loved when he gave me piggy back rides."

Michael was a proud member of the Army National Guard, serving in both the New Jersey and New York divisions. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in 2017 after serving for nine years. A life-long fan of the NY Mets, he treasured the experience of attending Game 4 of the NLCS Championship in 2024 and hoped his family would always hold that memory close. He had a deep love for learning and education, and he enjoyed informed discussions about current events. He found joy in participating in outdoor sports, including mountain biking and hiking, and he loved to travel the world, immersing himself in the local culture. Michael was also a big fan of Disney – whether visiting Disney World or watching beloved Disney movies with his family, those moments brought him great happiness.

Above all, Michael cherished the life and family he built with Kim. His greatest pride and joy was being a husband and father, and his love for Kim, Nathan, and Haley was evident in every choice he made.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the late spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's memory to Project Purple, whose mission is creating a world without pancreatic cancer (projectpurple.org).

Michael was a friend to everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed
