Michael P. Ramsey, 84, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Advent Health in Daytona Beach, surrounded by His loving family. 

Mike was born on January 12, 1942, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to Ben and Mildred Ramsey. He grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1960. During his senior year, Mike joined the U.S. Navy Reserves. Following graduation, he entered active duty and proudly served his country for six years. 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mildred Ramsey; his three sisters, Dorothy Kersten, Nedra Weber, and Carol Averbeck; and his first wife, Melinda Hollis Ramsey. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Tegie Frasier Ramsey; his son, Brent (Lynne) Ramsey of Geneva, Florida; his two grandsons, Brenden (Brittany) Ramsey of Kensington, New Hampshire, and Christian (Faith) Ramsey of Geneva, Florida; his two great-granddaughters, Rowe and Louie, and his great-grandson, Cyrus; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

After leaving active duty in the Navy, Mike joined Mercury Marine on December 13, 1963. He worked for Racing Division and raced for eight years before becoming a factory representative for Mercury. He dedicated more than 40 years to Mercury Marine before retiring in June 2004.

Retirement did not slow Mike down. He remained very active in bowling, hunting, and volunteer work. He was a longtime volunteer of the Coronado Thrift Store and continued his service for 22 years. Mike was also an active member of the Coronado Community United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and volunteered with off-campus services. His willingness to give his time and talent to others was an important part of who he was. 

Mike will be remembered for his love of family, his friendships, his service to others and the many years he devoted to his work, church, and community. He leaves behind a life-time of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Mike's Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Coronado Community United Methodist Church, 201 S. Peninsula Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL, with a Reception following in Fellowship Hall.
