Mildred
Erny
November 27, 1927 – April 27, 2020
Mildred Dorothy Erny , 92 of Orlando, Florida, and also Berkeley Heights, N.J. and Fanwood, N.J. passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2020. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 27, 1927 to Christian J. Dammann and Ernestine (nee' Brandstetter) Dammann. She was employed as a secretary in the Registrar's Office of the former Union County Technical Institute in Scotch Plains, N.J. before retiring to Florida in 1976 along with her husband Frank. Mildred is survived by her daughter Sharon Monast of Orlando and her husband James, grandsons Austin Monast, Grant Monast, and his wife Kristin and grandson Spencer Monast. She is also survived by her nephew John Hoesly and wife Nancy and their children, niece Barbara Frost, her husband Ken and their children. Mildred loved to knit, crochet, play Bingo and cards; enjoyed traveling in her motor-home with her husband Frank and in earlier days in their travel trailers (which always seemed to grow in size!), they often took her niece or nephew along in the earlier days and grandchildren in later years. She was very independent and social in her later years. "Millie" lived at Baptist Terrace Senior High Rise independently in downtown Orlando for many years and enjoyed her many friends there playing cards, Bingo and the social events they had. Mildred was a wonderful devoted mother. Along with her husband Frank, they gave their only child Sharon a wonderful childhood and life. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Herold Erny on 1/11/2002. Frank had retired from 25 years' service with the Union County Road Department as Supervisor of Roads, and was a Navy veteran. They had celebrated over 52 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her sister Ernestine Hoesly and brother-in-law John Hoesly. No ceremonies are planned at this time and Mildred will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later date.
