Miriam "Joan"
Laukshtein
November 18, 1932 – November 14, 2020
Miriam "Joan" Laukshtein passed away in her sleep early Saturday morning, November 14th, 2020, just 4 days shy of her 88th Birthday. She was raised in Cranford, NJ before moving around along the East Coast of the US (living in Nova Scotia, Canada, NJ, MD, NC, & FL) and finally settling in Fort Myers, FL. Joan and her identical twin sister Jean were approached as teens about being Toni Twins, but her dad said no; she would have loved being in the spotlight! She was married to Walter Laukshtein for 63 years when he passed in 2012, and they loved to travel, go on cruises, and play games like bingo and slots at the casino. She loved to laugh and have fun. Her favorite character was Betty Boop, and she loved elephants.
As of this posting in October 2021, she is survived by her children: Son Randy Laukshtein (& wife Deidre Heindl in FL), daughter Joanne Pulz (and husband Gary Pulz in NJ), son Walter "Wally" Laukshtein (& wife Sylvia Laukshtein in ME), and daughter-in-law Gloria Laukshtein.
Grandchildren: Rory Dobis (FL), Shawn Dobis (& wife Vanessa LeighAnn Dobis in VA), Tabatha Stoots (& husband Matt Stoots in NJ), Kristian Pulz (& Nicole Pulz in NJ), Rein Pulz (& Lai San Leung in NJ), Karalina Park (& husband Seungman Park in NY), Daggi Ball (& husband Brian Ball in NJ), Ryan Laukshtein (CT), niece Gail Keyser (& husband Robert Keyser-MD) and many great-grandchildren.
As of this posting in October 2021, she is predeceased by her husband Walter Laukshtein, her parents, Arthur and Abby Lewis, identical twin sister Margaret "Jean" Erb & her husband Charles O. Erb, her brother Arthur Thomas Lewis, her brother Robert D. "Bob" Lewis, her son Robert "Bruce" Laukshtein, and Nephew Charles A. Erb.
A private memorial/ burial service will take place on October 23, 2021 in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hope PACE via https://hopehcs.org/donate/, as their organization was a huge help to her and the family in recent years.
