Molly Jean Schenk, born August 21, 1957, in Buffalo, NY, passed away peacefully on July 2,2025, at the age of 67, with her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Jessica by her side. After a courageous five-year battle with dementia, she left this world surrounded by love and memories that will forever endure.
Molly spent most of her life in Sarasota, FL, where she built a career as a dedicated pharmacist at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for 35 years, offering compassionate care to countless patients. Her devotion to her work was matched only by the love she had for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Worthington George "Bud" Schenk, Jr. and Jean Lyon Schenk, as well as her sister, Lura and brothers Andrew and Sandy. Molly is survived by her beloved son, Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Jessica, and their children, Ashtyn and Evan, who brought her immeasurable joy. She also leaves behind her sisters Marti and Elsa, and brother Gregory, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews, including Sharon, Alex, Deborah, Holly, Lura, Alice and Marty. Additionally, Molly is remembered with affection by her great-nieces Tatiana, Madalena, and Tiegan, and great-nephews Austin and Steven.
Known for her incredible talent as a seamstress and craftswoman, Molly's creativity and passion for making beautiful things were evident in every project she touched. Her generosity and kindness were felt by all who knew her, and she was deeply loved by an extensive group of extended family and loyal and supportive friends. She had an adventurous spirit and loved hiking near her home in Tennessee, always seeking to explore and appreciate the world around her.
Molly's warmth, compassion, and adventurous soul will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and generosity that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
