Obituary

MSGT GEORGE F. CASE., USAF, Ret, passed away on May 2, 2026 at 88 years old. He was born June 21, 1937 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Arthur and Bertha Case, both deceased. He graduated from high school in Long Pine, NE in 1956 and immediately enlisted into the Air Force, serving 22 years, and retiring as a Master Sergeant. After he retired, he and his family moved to Orlando to be near relatives. He earned a B.S. in Business Management from Rollins College, worked for the Florida Employment Service finding jobs for Disabled Veterans, was Chairman of the Central Florida Veterans Advisory Council, and was appointed Director of the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program. One of the highlights of his life was being invited to the White House where all Directors were greeted by President Ragan. Once the program was discontinued he obtained employment with two local food brokers, selling, servicing, and merchandising in local grocery stores. In both cases he worked as a Retail Supervisor. George loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and metal detecting. He was a committee member of the Wekiva Springs Strutters, a chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He loved working with his hands and was a master wood crafter, making seasonal decorations for his yard, which Bea painted. Their home was always massively decorated at Christmas, Halloween, and other holidays. It was often featured in the local newspaper. They became members of the College Park United Methodist Church and George was actively involved --serving as chairman of several committees, teaching Sunday School, conducting the annual food drive, and doing anything his walk with the Lord took him. He dedicated his life to serving others. He is joined in heaven by the love of his life, Beatrice (Bea) Case, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years before her passing in 2019, as well as his sister, Deloris Stiles. Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Alta Hall & family, and Doris Howe & family; his four children, Delores (Dee) Jones, Danny Case, Dale (Sheila) Case, and Gary Case; his niece, Linda (Albert) Curbello; his grandchildren, Scott Case, Danielle (Jarvis) Gossard, and his two great‑grandchildren, Oliana and Makaio Gossard. Beyond his beloved family, George leaves behind a host of friends—because he truly never met a stranger. His smile and laugh will forever be missed. His memorial service will be held at College Park United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 am. Refreshments in the Fellowship Hall afterwards. Burial will be held at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Scotsmoor, FL.
