Ms. Muriel Elaine Kegan died in Edgewater Florida on August 16, 2015 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Kegan. Muriel is survived by her children, David A. Sleeper, Sandra Marton, and Nancy Cox; her stepchildren, Robert Kegan, James Kegan, Barbara Samples, and Patricia Kegan and her sister Marjorie Farrar. Muriel was born in Wescot, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in 1947.she was a teacher at Deering High School until she moved to Schenectady, New York. She worked at General Electric's atomic power laboratory as a chemist. After she moved to Florida, she worked in real estate at Century 21. In 1979 she returned to college and obtained a nursing degree. She was a Registered Nurse and supervisor at Ocean view Nursing Home. She enjoyed writing and published many short stories and poems. A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 pm August 25th at Beachside Baptist Church, 629 South Pine St New Smyrna Beach with a reception to follow. Pastor Allen will officiate the ceremony.
