Obituary

Muriel Miske Pisani, passed away at home in The Villages of Florida on April 21, 2025. Muriel was born in Passaic, New Jersey to George and Olga Miske.  She lived most of her life in New Jersey and Pennsylvania until she moved to the Villages of Florida in August 2011.

Muriel graduated from Passaic High School in 1961. She received her nursing degree from Paterson General Hospital, Paterson, New Jersey in 1964. She also attended Fairleigh Dickinson University as part of her nursing degree program. In 1982, Muriel received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from William Paterson University where she was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for nursing.

At the start of her career, Muriel worked at Passaic General Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey in the ICU and Emergency Room. She then worked at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ and later as an Occupational Health Nurse for Becton Dickinson in Franklin Lakes, NJ. When she and her husband moved to Palmer, Pennsylvania she worked as an RN for Valley Hospital in Muhlenberg, PA. She was also a Parish Nurse for St. Jane Francis de Chantal Church in Easton, PA.

Muriel was a devout Catholic and member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Wildwood, FL. She was very active in the church and a member of the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and served as a Sacristan. She was also a member of the Ministry of Consolation, CCW, and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

A loving wife, mom, grandmother, nurse, volunteer and friend, Muriel will be remembered for her nurturing, supportive, and selfless devotion to her family, friends, and the communities in which she selflessly shared her talents, time and warmth. Her unconditional love, willingness to make sacrifices, and strength in challenging times, serves as a reminder of the impact she had on the people and places she lived over the years. Everyone who knew Muriel will think fondly of her endless capacity for giving, including her famous kiffles cookies at the holidays, as well as her dedication to helping us all in significant ways. Always a source of energy, encouragement, strength and resilience, she invested in all of us with all her heart.

Muriel is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband Jerry of 60 years. She was predeceased by her parents George and Olga Miske, and twin sister Margaret Tillotson. She is survived by her loving family; George Miske and sister-in-law Patricia Miske who live in the Villages, FL; son Glenn Pisani and daughter-in-law Maria Pisani of Warwick, RI; daughter Janine Pisani McGuire, PhD and son-in-law Dr. Kevin McGuire of Hanover, NH; and son Keith Pisani and daughter-in-law Laurel Pisani of Milford, CT. She will be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren including Nicholas Pisani, Jessica Pisani, Casey McGuire, Riley McGuire, Andrew McGuire, Holly Pisani and Lila Pisani as well as by her nieces, nephews and other members of the Pisani and Miske families.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, FL.
