Murrell was born May 7, 1934, in Wytheville, Virginia and was born again in June 1962 in Titusville, Florida. He passed away to his Heavenly home on April 1, 2022.

He served in the U.S. Army (Korea) from 1950 to 1952. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Nadine, in 2006.  He is survived by second wife of 10 years, Missy, and by three children, Karen Cornell (Ohio), Steven (Florida) and Douglas (Tricia) (Utah); grandchildren (Joel, James, Denaye, Faithann, Hope, True), several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara Moses of Melbourne, Florida.

Murrell surrendered to the Lord to preach the Gospel in 1965 and continued to do so until death.  Murrell established and pastored Bible Baptist Church in Ashtabula, Ohio from 1968 to 1988.  He went on to conduct many revival meetings and serve as interim pastor in several local churches as a missionary-evangelist.

His funeral Service will be at Trinity Baptist Church, 2840 E Hayes St, Inverness, FL on Thursday, April 7th at 12 PM. Calling hours will be one prior at the church.
