Myrtle Blitch, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away July 23, 2025, in Apopka, Florida, surrounded by family. Myrtle was born the fourth of eight children in Pearson, Georgia, and after high school she moved to Florida, where she met her beloved late husband of 63 years, Herbert. Together they raised three children and formed many lasting friendships at Laurel Hill and Trinity Baptist Church. She loved her faith, family, fishing, and tracking the wildlife activity in her garden. Myrtle will forever be remembered for her compassion, strength, patience, devotion to her family, and endless capacity to put others first (not to mention her sense of humor, iconic recipes, and winning streak at family game nights). She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one of her seven siblings.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on August 2, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church (1022 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, Florida 32703), with a lunch reception to follow in the chapel.
