Nancy Jean Ebersole's Obituary

Nancy Jean Ebersole (née McNamara), 72, died peacefully in Ft. Myers, FL, on February 16th, 2026 surrounded by her family. Nancy was many things, a loving wife, a supportive mother, and a loyal friend. She was also an adventurer, a traveler, an athlete with a competitive streak, and a woman who loved a good Rum & Coke. She enjoyed tennis, golf, running, skiing, hiking, sailing, and Spongebob Squarepants. Nancy was born on December 23, 1953 in Danville, IL to parents Joseph E. McNamara and Doris (Dora) McNamara. She attended Schlarman and later Oakwood high school, Lakeview College, and Florida Atlantic University. As luck would have it, the love of her life, Craig, grew up next door to her; they married in 1973 and had three children. Nancy's professional career was as well-rounded as she was; Nancy was a registered nurse, an electrical engineer, a substitute teacher, a volunteer coach, and a tennis referee.

She is survived by her husband Craig of 52 years, her three sons Sean, Ryan, and Roberto (Tito), her son-in-law Jessie, her sisters Mary, Carol, and Maureen, and brothers James, John, and Daniel. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Kevin.

The family will be holding a small, private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dubin Center in Ft. Myers (https://www.dubincenter.com/) or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation (.https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/). Of all the places she traveled, Hawaii was her favorite and will be her final resting place.
