Obituary

Nancy L. (Moore) Kirschenbaum, 78, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away on March 30, 2026. She was born on March 20, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio.

Nancy is survived by her loving partner, Stewart Austin of Summerfield, Florida; her stepson, Josh Kirschenbaum (and partner Paul Steinke) of Chicago, Illinois; her sister, Mindy Moore of New Bern, North Carolina; and her siblings Lydia Henthorne, David Moore, and Lisa Wolfe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kirschenbaum, and her parents, Nelson and Evelyn (Swingle) Moore.

Nancy built a successful career as a purchasing agent, working with Lucent Technologies, Mettler Toledo, and E-One. Nancy also held a volunteer executive staff role with Marion Therapeutic Riding Association (MTRA), supporting its mission of providing therapeutic riding to children, adults, and veterans with special needs, including those with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. In this role she mentored, listened, and inspired others, making a lasting difference in many lives.

Nancy lived a vibrant and joyful life. She was known not only for her professionalism, but for the meaningful impact she had on those around her—truly “touching the lives of others” throughout her life. She was bubbly, full of energy, and bright spirited—often remembered with sparkling nail polish and a smile that lit up every room. She loved being around young people, especially through her involvement with MTRA.

Her passions included synchronized swimming, Mahjong, traveling, and exploring different cultures. She found joy in learning, reading, and experiencing all that life had to offer.

Nancy will be remembered as caring, loving, generous, and authentically herself—unfiltered in the best way, always genuine, and deeply compassionate. She lived fully, gave freely, and made the world a brighter place for those fortunate enough to know her.
