Nancy Lee Muddle

9/9/1939 – 12/18/2023

Nancy "Nan" was born on September 9th, 1939, to parents John Livingston and Vivian (Marshall) Wade in Elmira, NY, and passed after a tough fight against cancer on December 18th, 2023.

An alumna of Watkins Glenn High School, Nancy was an energetic cheerleader for years. After graduation, she worked as an executive secretary for General Dynamics in Rochester, NY. She met her husband, Jan Arthur Muddle of Gloversville, NY who was working as a patent draftsman for Smith Corona in Syracuse, NY.

After their marriage in Syracuse, Nan and Jan lived in the NY towns of Cortland, Greece, Rochester, and Webster before moving to Lincolnton, NC. After 15 years in North Carolina, they re-settled in Leesburg, FL. On September 14th, 2023, Nan and Jan celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Nan and Jan are the proud parents of three daughters, Kara, Kelli, and Krista, and grandparents to Krista's children Sebastian and Ariella Knope. Nan is survived by her husband, daughters, grandkids, sister-in-law Pat, wife to brother Garth (predeceased), brother Tom and his wife Mary, sister Carole and her husband Arnie True, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nancy made friends wherever she went. She loved humorous stories and was an avid reader, especially of history. She was a talented singer, bookkeeper, event planner, crafter, and student. She will be remembered for her fierce love of animals, perseverance, bright spirit, friendly demeanor, and endearing love. She had an uncompromising devotion to her family for which she created a strong foundation.

Nancy Muddle "Nan" will be deeply missed and remain in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life for Nan will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral home at 1350 Burleigh Blvd, Tavares, FL 32778 on Friday, January 12th from 10 am – 12 noon with burial following at Bushnell Military Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vintage Paws Sanctuary ( vintagepaws.org ) as Nan was expressly empathetic to senior rescue dogs.
