Nickey Cothran, 62, of Naples, Fl. and previously a resident of Plainville, CT passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025 after a brief illness. Nickey was born in New Britain, CT on July 23, 1963 to the late Nilda Rose and Albert W. Ruwell. Nickey attended school in Plainville. Nickey mainly worked as a handyman. He continued that work when he moved to Naples to be closer to his mother. He later met Jennifer Williams fell in love and was married. Nickey was predeceased by his parents, and wife Jennifer. Nickey is survived by his brothers; Albert P Ruwell of Bristol, Ct; Steven Cothran, wife Diane of The Villages, FL.; Step Father, Thomas Rose, of The Villages, FL.; Nieces; Sydney Boettger, husband Arthur of West Hartford, CT; Samantha Cothran of Wallingford, CT; Great Niece, Kendall Boettger of West Hartford, CT.

He enjoyed playing sports, hanging out in the Forestville Boys Club with all his cousins and friends. He was a great fan of the Miami Dolphins and New York Mets. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a hard worker who would do a favor for anyone.

The family wishes to thank the staff at AVOW Hospice of Naples, whose dedicated care was provided in recent days. A memorial service will be held at West Cemetery Plainville, Connecticut on September 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.
