Nikolaos Christos Kontakos, "Niko", age 63 of Fort Myers, FL passed away on April 23rd, 2024 after sudden complications from pneumonia. He was born in Kouledia, Greece to Aggeliki & Christos Kontakos.

Niko had a passion for cooking that filled his heart with happiness. He cooked all his life, from being a teenager learning the ropes in Chicago diners to owning his own. He founded the Sunflower Cafe, a local staple here in Fort Myers Beach. There he fed the bellies of many in our area and found a community that became family.

Niko leaves only treasured memories to his wife, Anna Kontakos, his two beautiful daughters, Angie & Christina Kontakos, and an immense circle of friends.

Niko was an excellent chef, generous boss, loving husband & father, and best friend. Most importantly he had a heart of gold and a warm smile that will be forever remembered.

A Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 2-4pm at Baldwin Brothers (East Colonial Location) 4320 Colonial Blvd Ft. Myers FL 33966.
