Norbert Hans Herman "Bert" Drews, 97, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026.

Born on October 10, 1928, Bert lived a life marked by service, education, perseverance, and compassion. He proudly served in the National Guard, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to his country. He pursued higher education at Muhlenberg College, earned his degree from the University of Maryland, and later completed a master's degree at Johns Hopkins University.

Among Bert's greatest passions was his dedication to Alcoholics Anonymous. He devoted countless hours to supporting others on their journey to recovery, offering encouragement, guidance, and hope to those whose lives he touched. His quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others will be remembered by many.

Bert is survived by his loving daughters, Victoria Drews Edwards and Patricia Ann Fox, grandchildren, Allison Daytona Edwards, Laurel Drews Edwards, Ryan Samuel Fox (wife Kayla), Eric Stephen Fox (wife Jennifer), and Heather Fox Burgess (husband Brad), and great-grandchildren, Cadence Hughes, Mitchell Reed Fox and Reagan Harrison Burgess, who will cherish his memory and the values he instilled in them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his son, Steven Carl Drews.

Bert's legacy is one of service, education, resilience, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Alcoholics Anonymous in Bert's honor.
