Obituary

Norman Charles Willebrandt of Matlacha, Florida, and previously of Fredonia and Silver Creek, New York, passed June 21, 2025.

Norm was born April 23, 1934 in Buffalo, New York, to the late William and Frieda Kailus Willebrandt.  He attended Buffalo schools, graduating from Hutch-Tech.  Norm enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1951 to 1955 mainly aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Wright CV-49, during the Korean War.  Norm was employed by National Fuel Gas, lastly as a dispatcher, for 37 years prior to his 1992 retirement.

Norm married the love of his life, Anne Margaret Haugh, on June 27, 1953.  Married almost 71 years, Anne preceded him in death March 18, 2024.

Norm is survived by his six children; Joanne Willebrandt Buck, Norma Willebrandt Bienko (Don Bennice), Dennis (Caro) Willebrandt, Thomas (Shannon) Willebrandt, David (Jena) Willebrandt, and Janice Willebrandt (Thomas) Kolassa.  Norm is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 nieces and nephews.

Preceding Norm in death was grandson, Jesse A Willebrandt; in-laws, Harold and Margaret Haugh; sister-in-law, Peggy and husband Vincent Collins; and brother-in-law, Richard Haugh.

If desired, memorials to St. Columban's of Silver Creek, New York, which holds a special place in the family's heart, would be appreciated.

A post Everlasting Ceremony with Military Honors will be held at the Brocton American Legion on August 9th at noon.  All are invited to attend.
