Obie Dean Ernst-West, 93, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away September 29, 2020, at Hope Hospice House in Lehigh Acres, FL. Born December 10, 1926 in England, AR., she was the daughter of Newton Purtle and Mary Mamie Cruise. Obie Dean worked as a bus driver within the education field 20+ years prior to retirement. She volunteered at Southwest Regional Medical Center and Women's Auxiliary in Little Rock, AR. She enjoyed Bingo playing Bridge, and loved going to church. Surviving are her daughter Linda Faye Ashley of Little Rock, AR., sons Lynn Ray &  wife Arlena Fay Ernst of Lehigh Acres, FL., and Lee Edward Ernst of Grady, AR., granddaughters Elaine Gibbs & husband David of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., Olivia Paige Elrod-Ernst of Lehigh Acres, FL., grandson Justin Elrod, Sr. of Lehigh Acres, FL., 3 great granddaughters, Linda Ross, Lisa Mendoza, and Elyse Elrod, 2 great grandsons, Justin Elrod Jr., and Jaiden Elrod., 2 great-great grandchildren Marco Mendoza, Jocelyn Elizabeth Mendez. Obie Dean Ernst-West was preceded in death by her husband of 30+ years, Leonard Ernst and James West, mother Mary Mamie Cruise, father Newton Purtle, step-father Fred Zanola, sister, Faye Purtle, brother Randall Purtle, and his wife Jacklyn Purtle. She will be missed by family and friends. Arrangements will be made at a later date.  Family ask in lieu of flowers donations can been made to Heart Association. Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Fort Myers, assisted the family.
