Betty Shells Hubbs, born October 1, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on December 1, 2025, in Mount Dora, Florida.

Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest pride and joy was her family and children. She was a fun-loving, beautiful person who was always a source of strength and support to those she loved. Known for her kindness and steady wisdom, Betty was someone you could always count on for encouragement and thoughtful advice.

She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and shopping, and she especially loved reading and participating in book club. These simple pleasures brought her great happiness and were often shared with family and friends.

Betty dedicated 33 years of her life to working in the technology field, where she was known for her commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Joe Hubbs; her sons, A.J. Hubbs (Jamie) and Anthony Brown (LaYona); her daughter, Chiquitha Lloyd; her mother, Luciel Johnson; her brother, Steve Johnson (Rachel); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Johnson (Ada) and Wali Muhommad.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service held at the Lakes of Mount Dora Clubhouse, 8506 Lakes of Mount Dora Blvd, Mount Dora FL 32757 at 1:00 – 3:00 pm on January 24, 2026.
