November 29, 1940 – September 24, 2025
Bonnie was the daughter of Richard and Mary Scanlon. She was nurtured with care, kindness and love. She was educated at St. Bernadette parochial school in Drexel Hill, PA, graduated from Holy Child Academy in Rosemont, PA, graduated with a Bachelor degree in Education from West Chester State University and a Masters degree in Special Education from Penn State University. She taught 2 nd grade at Sabold Elementary School, in the Springfield School District, Delaware County, PA, for over 33 years. Bonnie loved teaching and her students. She retired in 1999.
Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, Richard J., Jr.. Her surviving siblings are, her sister Sue Carter, Pat Scanlon and David Scanlon. She had three children James, Terry and Molly from her first marriage; and four step-children Benita, Joy, Chip (Dennis Jr.) and Ashley from her second marriage. She had 16 grand children from the combined families.
In 1997, Bonnie met Dennis Sr. and in 1999, after both previous marriages were annulled, she married Dennis on the first day of Spring and began their inseparable journey together. Her love for him was true, unconditional and unwavering. In 2017, they moved to Stone Crest, a 55+ community in Summerfield, FL She enjoyed traveling, her teaching colleagues, high school graduates, family events and discovering quaint places in FL. She was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.
Bonnie passed away unexpectedly at Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages, FL from injuries sustained in a fall at her memory care facility, Harbor Chase.
A Requiem Mass will be said on December 1 st , at 8:30 a.m., at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL. The Mass will be streamed on You Tube for those unable to personally attend.
