Brenda Sue Hensley
January 30, 1949 – August 24, 2025
Brenda, age 76, passed away peacefully August 24th, 2025, to join her mother and father in heaven, after a long battle with dementia. Despite that battle her faith, spirit, and love never wavered.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to William Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson. She moved to Florida at the young age of 16. New Smyrna Beach became her home, even after moving away a few times she was always called back here. Brenda was blessed to be the mother of 8 children.
Brenda was always there if you needed a prayer or a good conversation. She was a devoted Christian woman; her favorite bible verse can be found through PSALM 91:1-16. She spent her free time never missing a church service, and with her kids and grandkids. Brenda worked throughout her years but spent most of her time being a homemaker, that was just her calling.
Brenda was proceeded in death by husband Gary Hensley, daughter Linda Cox and son William (Patrick) King, as well as her sister Tonya. She leaves behind six children Charles M. King Jr. (Wanda), Tracy King, Lori Wagner (Keith), Amy King (Allen), David (Joshua) King, Susan Garcia (Ozzy) and daughter-in-law Bonnie King. Along with a Brother Johnny Sykes, and three sisters Angela Saylor, Sherry Mitchell, and Suzette Johnson. She leaves behind 25 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren to carry on her legacy.
In the days and years to come, may we find comfort in the knowledge that her journey continues in the hearts of those who remember. Let us honor her memory by living with purpose, compassion, walking by faith and having an unwavering commitment to God.
A Celebration of Life to be held August 30 th , 2025, 2-4pm at Calvary NSB 794 Old Misson Road, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168. We would love to see everyone in pink to help celebrate Brendas remembrance.
