Carolyn Sue York (née Loveless) , 84, of Summerfield, FL, passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2025. She was born in Princeton, IN, in 1941 to Arvena (Board) and Roy Loveless. On April 3, 1965, she married Don Alvin York in Newberry, IN, and together they built a life full of love and devotion.
Carolyn served others throughout her life as a homemaker, nurse, small-business owner, and realtor. She was active in church music, playing the organ and singing gospel with the choir for many years. She loved traveling to tropical places, especially Hawaii, and most of all cherished her family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary (Loveless) Keesler; her brother-in-law, Robert Sharp; and her nephew, Tony Sharp.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Don York; her children , Jeffrey York and his wife, Lavonna York; Rebecca York Alcorn and her husband, David Alcorn; Gregory York; and Sue York McKinney; her grandchildren, Benjamin Dove and Alexis Williams; her siblings, Lyla (Loveless) Sharp and Robert Loveless and his wife, Marlene Loveless; as well as her nieces and nephews, Deborah "Debbie" Mildenberg, Carolyn Faye Loveless, Terri Defendall, Shea Truelock, Keith Sharp, Randy Sharp, and James Sharp; and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews who adored her.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in The Villages, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local hospice organization. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Cornerstone Hospice and especially to her niece, Debbie Mildenberg, for her loving support and care.
