David Edward Gerletti

October 5, 1950 – September 9, 2025

David Edward Gerletti, 74, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. Born on October 5, 1950 in Fresno, California to Ernesto and Ruth Gerletti; David grew up in Santa Maria, California where he lived a full life marked by quiet dedication to hard work and love for his family. He graduated from Santa Maria high school in 1969, served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Ajax, and later returned to Santa Maria, where he worked for 20 long and fulfilling years at the Santa Maria Public Airport before retiring.

After retirement, David and his wife Paula relocated to The Villages, Florida, where he enjoyed his days woodworking, home improvement projects, and spending time in the ceramics studio. He was someone who could fix anything, build just about everything, and could always be found with tools in hand, bringing his quiet craftsmanship and thoughtful attention to every task.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Paula; his daughters, Christal and Karen; his son, Robert; and his cherished grandchildren, Colton and Clayton. David's unwavering devotion to his family and his steady presence in their lives will be deeply missed.

He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, resourcefulness, and love — a man who never stopped moving, building, or caring for those around him.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor David by taking time to fix something, build something, or lend a helping hand — just as he always did.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com .
