In November, Diane Drake Schlecter (1941-2025) passed away peacefully at her home in The Villages, Florida with her daughter Wendy and son-in-law Sean by her side. She is survived by her three children: Scott Biddison, Wendy VanHorn and Dawn Biddison. Diane was the daughter of Miriam "Dolly" Farrier Drake and Charles Richard Drake, Jr.

Diane was raised in Maplewood, New Jersey, where she attended Columbia High School in Maplewood New Jersey. She next attended Baldwin Wallace College, where she met and later married Bruce Biddison (deceased). They lived in Fairview Park, Ohio and moved to Florham Park, New Jersey, with their three children. They were divorced, and Diane later married Alan Schlecter (deceased), owner of Schlecter Industrial Supply. After retiring, they moved to The Villages, Florida. Diane had a varied working career that included teacher, interior designer, restaurant owner, a business financial and personnel manager, and owner of bed and breakfast.

A private family gathering and scattering of ashes in New Jersey will be planned for the Spring of 2026. In lieu flowers, donations can be sent to Habitat for Humanity.
