Frederick John Hardie, 74 of Venice, Florida passed away on December 26,2025.  A lifelong member of the community, Frederick "Derf" dedicated much of his life to service and helping others in need.

For many years, Frederick proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Bedford Hills Fire Department, answering countless calls with courage, reliability, and a deep commitment to protecting his neighbor's.  His service reflected his belief in giving back and being there when others needed help most.

In addition to his volunteer service, Frederick worked as an automotive mechanic for over 30 years.  Known for his strong work ethic, skill, and honesty, he took great pride in his craft and was always willing to lend a hand or offer advice.  Friends, family, and customers alike trusted him not only for his expertise, but for his kindness and straightforward nature.

Frederick will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, love for helping others, passion for life, and the quiet strength he showed every day.

Frederick is survived by his sister June Keith children: Tyson Hardie (Shelly) Amber Canepari (Mark), Erin Hardie and two grandchildren (Jade and Cameron Canepari).

In keeping with Frederick's wishes, funeral services will be private.

A celebration of life will be planned in the coming weeks.
