Obituary

Gary Edward Scheidemantle, 79, of Kissimmee, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 24th 2025. Mr. Scheidemantle was born on November 9, 1946, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Gary lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to family, career, faith, and community.

Gary was married for 36 years to his beloved wife, Lucy Ann (LuAnn) Scheidemantle, with whom he shared a life rooted in love and partnership. Together they made their home in Kissimmee, Florida, after relocating from St. Augustine in July 2018.

A proud graduate of Monmouth College in Illinois, Gary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He devoted 38 years of his professional life to Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where he built a respected career in finance and credit before retiring in April 2007.

Gary was the son of the late Gerald George Scheidemantle and Vivian Ruth (DeVinney) Scheidemantle. He was a man of strong faith and a devoted member of Celebration Presbyterian Church.

A passionate golfer and enthusiastic volunteer, Gary gave many years of service to the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Florida, volunteering from 2007 to 2018. From 2013 to 2018, he authored the "Golf the Game" column for the World Golf Village Community Journal. His love of the sport was reflected in his many achievements, including winning the Great Golf Photo Contest #2 in 2012 at King & Bear and Slammer & Squire, achieving four holes-in-one, and winning the Senior Golf Championship in 2009 at King & Bear and Slammer & Squire Golf Clubs. In 2016, one of Gary's articles was published in Handyman Magazine as part of the "Great Goofs" column. T he last 7 years of his life were dedicated to the joy of being Grampy.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Ann Scheidemantle, of Kissimmee, Florida; his daughter, Marcy (Ray) Scott of Beaver, Pennsylvania; his sons, Eric (Liza) Scheidemantle of Pasadena, California, and Christopher (Tara) Clause of Davenport, Florida; his grandchildren, Kira M. Clause of Davenport, Florida, and Harper Scheidemantle of Pasadena, California; and his brother, David Scheidemantle of New Castle, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Andrew Scheidemantle of Midlothian, Texas.

Gary will be remembered for his integrity, warmth, sense of humor, and deep love for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, both personally and through his community involvement.
