George C. Hohner, 74, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on October 22, 2025. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ to John and Florence Hohner, and grew up in East Brunswick and South River, NJ. Prior to retiring in Florida, he and his wife, Rosalyn, had resided in New Jersey and Virginia.

He was a graduate of Middlesex County Vocational-Technical High School, Middlesex County College, and Brookdale Community College. He had an extensive work history, primarily at Hercules Incorporated, Parlin, NJ, and MicroAire Surgical Instruments in Charlottesville, Virginia.

An avid traveler, George loved family vacations and especially enjoyed cruising. He had visited numerous places around the world with his wife, his favorite country being Italy.

Besides travel, George's hobbies included cooking and baking, and he recently excelled in sourdough bread making. He enjoyed working on computer programming and anything to do with electronics.

George was acknowledged for his contributions to the book, Advanced Techniques in Turbo Prolog by Carl Townsend, and was considered a pioneer in that field. In the 1980's, he initiated the use of personal computers in St. Stanislaus Kostka School, Sayreville, years before they were introduced in public schools. He was active in both Boy Scouts of America and SWMHS Band Parents Association.

George is predeceased by his brothers, John and Wayne. He is survived by the love of his life, Rosalyn (Mazur), to whom he had been married for over 53 years. He also leaves behind his beloved son, Christopher George (Nancy) of Florida, and daughter Cara Marie Hansen (Jeremy) and his adored grandchildren, JJ and Elka, of Norway. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert and Mark of New Jersey, and James, of Georgia, his sister-in-law, Edna Mazur Pilch, of New Jersey, and many nieces and nephews. Numerous friends and neighbors in The Villages will miss his helpfulness and generosity, as George was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Per George's request, private cremation was held.
