Georgiana Wolf, known as Joy Wolf, age 74, of North Port, Fla., passed away on November 10, 2025.
Born in Chicago, Ill., the eldest child of the late Frank Leslie Doll and Mary Ann Graykowski Doll, she attended Catholic and public schools in Chicago and graduated from high school in 1969.
Joy worked at various clerical jobs in Chicago and its suburbs. In 1989, while an adult student at the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill., she met and married Dr. Charles Wolf, an instructor at the college.
In the early 1990's Joy attended Joliet Junior College and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Culinary Arts, with honors. She soon returned to clerical work, however, finding her most engaging work as a fraud examiner for First Midwest Bank in Joliet. She retired from the bank in 2017.
In 2019, Joy joined her husband in North Port, Fla., where she remained, caring for her dogs and enjoying the company of friends.
Joy is survived by her husband, Charles Wolf; siblings Michael Doll, Mary Ann Saindon, Frank Doll, and John Doll; and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at North Port Community United Church of Christ, 3450 South Biscayne Drive, North Port, Fla., at 11:00 a.m. on December 6, 2025. Donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
