It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gerald Thomas Olin, of Ft. Myers Florida, who left us peacefully on October 15, 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family, wife Connie, and their two sons, Thomas Olin and David Olin.
Born on October 28, 1944 in Joliet, IL to Gerald E. Olin and Edith Olin (Walsh).
Jerry graduated from Harlem High School in 1962 then went on to the University of Whitewater, Wisconsin and DePaul University in Chicago, IL for his MBA.
Jerry married the love of his life Connie Happ Olin in 1965. They moved to Chicago and then to Cedarburg, Wisconsin to raise their 2 boys, Tom and Dave. They later moved to Kansas, Texas, Biloxi, MS and then finally Ft. Myers, Florida. He worked many years in Insurance Administration before retiring.
Jerry was a life long fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He also was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He performed in many plays at the Community Theatre. While performing at Cultural Park in Cape Coral, Florida, he won an award for playing Elvis. He also played the clarinet in High School then in retirement he played for Ft. Myers Community Band.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, his children, Thomas Olin and David Olin, his sister, Judy Olin, several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents Gerald E. Olin and Edith Walsh Olin.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on November 4, 2025 at 10am.
