With profound sadness, the family of Gregory S. Lenart, 63 of Orlando, FL, announces his passing on December 1, 2025. Born September 6,1962, in Aurora IL, Greg grew up in Batavia, IL, and was the 5 th of 6 children to Stanley and Joan (Linenberger) Lenart. He is survived by his life partner, Taufiq Bawany, his siblings Brian (Helen) Lenart, Bruce Lenart, Cheryl Lenart, Anita Zavala, and Andrea (Brian) Sarro, 3 nephews, 4 nieces, 2 grandnieces and a grandnephew.
Greg graduated from Batavia High School in 1980 and Roosevelt University in Chicago in 1989. He lived in Ft. Lauderdale for several years after high school, then in downtown Chicago from 1987 to 1995, and in Orlando, FL, since 1995. He enjoyed working in the service industry for many years, especially his time as a tour guide at EPCOT.
Greg was a kind, loving brother and friend to many. His love for Christmas was felt by all who knew him. He decorated beautifully, usually putting up a Christmas tree in every room. He spent many years in Batavia attending the neighbor's Christmas party with lifelong friends and family. He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, working out, and going to the beach.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Stan and Joan Lenart and leaves behind his beloved fur babies – a dog named Sophie and a cat named Kitty.
There will be a viewing and funeral mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 4000 S Atlantic Ave, New Smyrna Beach, FL, on Friday December 12,2025, at 10:30 am. Mass will begin at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando or the ASPCA in memory of Greg Lenart.
