Jackie L. Wingard passed away December 4, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born on August 1, 1935, in Nahunta, Georgia to James Willis and Joyce May Crews Wingard.

Jackie and his family moved to Florida in 1940 where he graduated from Avon Park School. He won a scholarship to Parkinson Jr. College in Parkinson, Mississippi, where he played football. After 1 year in college, he was drafted to the Army in October 1957 and was stationed at Bomburg, Germany. He earned an Honorable Discharge in September 1959.

He became employed with Southern Bell in December of 1959. He retired from Bell South in February 1998 after 40 years of service. On July 22, 1960, he married the love of his life, Betty J Wingard, who passed away April 25, 2023. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. During his 63 years of marriage, he and Betty enjoyed fishing, camping and cruising. He enjoyed hunting with his brother Junior.

Jackie was preceded in death by his wife Betty Wingard, his son Blaine Wingard, daughter Beth Ann Smith and grandson Cody Swartzfager, as well as his brother Delmus Wingard, sister Christine Higginbotham, and brother Junior Wingard. He is survived by his sister-in-law Kay Wingard, Nephew Jeffrey Wingard, niece Charlotte Kardatzke, great-nephew Jacob Wingard, great-nieces Olivia Wingard and Sophia Kardatzke.
