IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jana Lou
Fowler
September 24, 1944 – August 13, 2025
Jana Fowler passed away peacefully on August 13th at her home in Florida, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering resilience. She endured years of various debilitating disorders and illnesses, yet her spirit remained unbroken. Despite the severe pain and discomfort, Jana maintained her wit, humor, and "attitude" until the very end.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, in 1944, Jana was adopted by Vernon and Anne Fowler in 1946. Her educational journey took her to Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education, and Xavier University, where she pursued her Master of Science in Counseling. Jana's passion for teaching, coaching, and counseling led her to become a beloved figure at Kings Local School District in Ohio, where she dedicated 29 years of her life.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jana was a cherished member of her chosen family and friends. She was married to her beloved spouse of 34 years, Cindy, and is also survived by her sister-in-law, Alice; nephew, Sam; niece, Rosie (Endre); and great-niece, Ruby. Jana's love for pickleball and all racquet sports extended to her active participation in community activities in her Florida home. She was an avid reader and loved spending time in nature, especially camping. Her favorite travel destinations included Yellowstone National Park, where she enthusiastically followed the various wolf packs, Glacier National Park, where she volunteered for a month at the Education Department, and wildlife watching in Alaska, where she loved watching the coastal brown bears and other wildlife. Kenya was also a favorite place, and encounters with elephants were at the top of her list.
A Celebration of Life will be held in early January in her Florida community. Jana's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
