Jane was born on April 24,1946 in Biddeford, Maine to the late Robert Foran, Sr. and Kathryn (Donovan) Foran. Jane was educated in Saco, Maine schools and graduated in 1964 from Thornton Academy. She participated in many extra curricular activities, most notably Future Homemakers of America where she rose to the level of National First Vice President. She graduated in 1968 with honors from the University of Maine, Farmington with a BS degree in Home Economics Education. She taught Home Economics at Yarmouth, Maine High School from 1968 – 1974. During her tenure she developed and taught the first Home Economics class for boys in the State of Maine. Jane was a stay-at-home mother during her two children's formative years. She returned to the work force as an intermittent US Customs Service inspector. She also worked in the retail jewelry business and did substitute teaching. In 1995 she was appointed as a full time Management Program Specialist for the US Customs Service, now the Department of Homeland Security, retiring in 2000.
In 1994 she married Neil Oelstrom of Portland, Maine, where they resided before moving to Old Orchard Beach, Maine in 2000. In 2008 upon retirement they became "Snowbirds" wintering in Florida until their permanent move to their Summerfield, Florida home in 2019.
Jane is survived by her husband, Neil Oelstrom, daughter Mary Elizabeth LaFond of Orlando, Florida, three bonus step children Erika (Steve) Marquis of Kennebunk, ME, Chad (Elizabeth) Oelstrom of Lawrenceville, GA and Kirsten (Kenneth) Skelly of North Providence, RI, nine grandchildren, Brianna LaFond, Jeremy and Chelsea Harmon, Benjamin and Samuel Marquis, Landon and Arden Oelstrom, Gavin and Evelyn Skelly and a brother Robert Foran, Jr and his wife Eileen of Summerfield, Florida. She is predeceased by her son William Thomas LaFond of South Portland, Maine.
Funeral Mass to be held on January 2, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 S. US Hwy 301, Belleview, Florida 34420
