Janel Louise Tal passed away suddenly on September 20 ^th 2025.  Janel was born on August 25 ^th 1948 in San Bernardino CA. but spent most of her life in Connecticut raising her family.  Janel was a gift to children which was emulated in her business "Grandmas House Nursery" that she ran for over 20 years in Branford CT.  Her childcare business was her dream and all the children she cared for received all the love as if they were her own.

Janel relocated to New Smyrna Beach in 2016 to enjoy her retirement and take long walks on the beach and garden.  Her selfless nature and caring demeanor came so natural to all she knew.  Her love and joy for life shined through her smile. Her sense of humor made all around her laugh and smile.

Janel is survived by her husband of 34 years Phillip Tal. Her brother Barry Karper and sister Mary Poupart. Her three children David Bracale, his wife Melissa, Jeffrey Bracale, his wife Deborah and Dawn Slubowski, her husband John. Her eight grandchildren were her pride and joy.  Her grandchildren Felycia Tyndall and her husband George, Brittany Sturdevant and her husband Jason, Shannon Bracale, Jeff Bracale, Nicholas Bracale, Kara Slubowski, Sean Slubowski, and Evan Slubowski. Her role as GiGi to her great grandchildren came easy to her as she poured so much love into the lives of Penelope Tyndall, Eloise and Adeline Sturdevant.  She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Catherine Karper.

Memorial services will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral at 1 North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach on October 3 ^rd from 1pm to 3pm.  A Celebration of Life will directly follow the service at another location.
