Karen L Taylor, age 84, passed away from lung disease & congestive heart failure on September 19, 2025, in Ocala, Florida.

Karen was born on September 16, 1941, in St. Mary's, Ohio, to parents Ralph & Mary Huwer. She graduated from St. Mary's High School. She moved to Washington, DC and accepted a position as a receptionist with the FBI, then moved to Florida in 1965. She worked for Chazal Blair Insurance in Ocala and retired from Central Florida Heart Center. Karen married Alton W. Taylor in 1964, and the couple had 1 child together.

Karen was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in her church at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a faithful, prayerful, spirited, committed woman to Jesus.

Karen is survived by her daughter TaMara York and her spouse, Buzzy York of Ocala, Florida; her grandchildren, Halston Schaffer, spouse Emilie-Ane, great granddaughter Hadley Schaffer, Sienna Schmidt spouse Preston Schmidt , Noah Schaffer and Innesa York, sisters Rita Huwer, Jean Harmon, and Susan Norman and brother Bill Huwer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Mary Huwer, and her brother Richard Huwer.

A funeral is scheduled for October 13, 2025, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church at noon.
