She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Hood Jr, parents Everett Norton & Katherine Mason, son Michael Hood, brother Roy Mason, and great granddaughter Danika Ohotto. Marilyn is survived by her children : son Daniel Hood, and his wife Tabatha of Windsor Heights, IA; daughter Deborah Gauvin, and her husband Dennis of Fairhaven, MA; daughter Donna LeBlanc and her husband Louis of New Bedford, MA; and her daughter Lisa Correia, and her husband Arthur of New Bedford, MA. She had nine grand children; & 10 great-grand children.

Marilyn loved dancing and opened her own studio in Mattapoisett before starting her family. She worked as a CNA for many years. Marilyn and her late husband loved Christmas time. That's when they began their journey of bringing joy to children as Mr. & Mrs. Clause. That journey would continue when they moved to FL to retire 30+ years ago. After the loss of her husband she found happiness again in attending and volunteering at St. George Episcopal Church in Lady Lake, FL. And was so pleased when she joined the Daughters of the King. She loved helping with the craft fairs, bake sales, and coffee hour at church. Baking & crafts were hobbies of hers, as well as puzzle books, crocheting, & shopping. Disney also held a special place in her heart, having been a pass holder for many years. Once she moved back to MA, she really got to treasure the time spent with her family & getting to know her many great grand children.
