Mary Witterschein Richards, 80, of The Villages, FL, passed away on December 5, 2025. Mary was born on May 25, 1945, in Jersey City, NJ, to Veronica Joan Hanlon Witterschein and George Joseph Witterschein.

Mary was a devoted mother and a loyal, loving wife. She attended Monmouth College in West Long Branch, NJ, and later helped run a business specializing in services for martial arts schools worldwide. Known for her quick wit and intelligence, Mary brought joy and laughter to those around her.

She enjoyed playing mahjong, bridge, reading, and spending time with friends and family. A gifted storyteller, Mary loved sharing stories about her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories for all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her sons, William Richards of The Villages, FL, and Michael Richards of Port Orange, FL; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Richards Wood, and son-in-law, Jeffrey Scott Wood, of Orlando, FL; and her beloved grandchildren: Ava Carrington Richards, Tate Joseph Richards, Liam Joseph Richards, Gabriel Stephen Richards, McKenna Elizabeth Richards, Aidan Michael Richards, and Jorge Zion Gomez.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 15, 2025, at Community United Methodist Church , Fruitland Park, FL. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life and share their memories.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
