IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary W.
Weeks
November 30, 1931 – November 2, 2025
Mary W. Weeks passed away peacefully during the night November 2, 2025, at Bishop's Glen Nursing Care Center. The cause of death was complications from Alzheimer's Disease.
Mary came to the Daytona Beach area in 1962. Her first husband, William B. Banks (Deceased) was an engineer with GE on the Apollo Project to land a man on the moon. Mary was active in the Ormond Beach area Girl Scouts and Little League Baseball, where she met Harold (Buzz) Weeks, her husband of 50 years. Buzz often said that marrying Mary was the best thing he ever did – she was an amazing person with boundless energy and enthusiasm. In 2007, Mary and Buzz built a vacation home in the mountains near Burnsville, NC on 25 acres of land that the Banks children own. The house and property are well used by the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and serves as a lasting legacy to an amazing woman.
Survivors include her husband, Buzz Weeks, sons, William C. Banks (Vicky) and John Banks, daughters, Betty Guinn (Jarvis) and Linda Skillern (Sean), 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. One son, Scott Banks (Chris) passed away in 2014.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Ormond Manor Memory Care Center, for the excellent care that Mary received there, and to Dr. James McDonnell for his many years of excellent and compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, with Visitation starting at 6:00 PM, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Baldwin Brothers Ormond Beach Chapel, 1185 W. Granada Blvd. Suite #11, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
