Harvey Mitcham Pittman passed away on September 3rd, 2025, at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital due to an acute bowel obstruction. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Therese 'Terri' Pittman, his son Marty (Lindsey) Pittman, his daughter Debbie Malinda Mummert, six grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Mitch was preceded in death by his son Kevin Wade Pittman, sister Eleanor "Jean" Katona, and 5 brothers: Clifford Ray and Marysue Pittman, David and Charlotte Pittman, Ira Daniel Pittman, Walter Frank Pittman, and Jerry Pittman.
Mitch was born on January 1, 1946, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He was the seventh child of Adrain Pittman and Eleanor Lizzy Bundy. He completed his high school education with a GED. Mitch worked as a carpet layer and owned "Carpet Coral" in Crystal River during the 1970s. Later he installed draperies and blinds and then was a sales representative for Zephyrhills Bottled Water. Mitch loved to participate in outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, hunting, canoeing, and wildlife photography. He played bocci, shuffleboard, and dominoes. Mitch also danced and was known for having an outgoing personality with a great sense of humor.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled to take place at Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club in Summerfield, Florida on October 4th, at 1:00 PM, under the pavilion next to the fitness center at 12650 Del Webb Boulevard, Summerfield, FL 34491. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Parkinson's Foundation or a charity of your own choosing.
