IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Norma S.
Roberto
March 23, 1936 – September 2, 2025
Norma S. Roberto died suddenly and peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 89 in Fort Myers, Florida. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Spinzia; her three children: Barbara-Anne Parsons (Tim), Christopher (Patty), Diana Donahoe (Keith); and six grandchildren: T.J., Kevin, Matthew, Michael, Allison, and Peter.
Norma was born on March 23, 1936, in Woodmere, New York to Peter Spinzia and Rose DeGregorio. She graduated from Goucher College in 1958 and married Robert Roberto Jr. that same year in New York City. They raised their children in Manhasset, New York where Norma and Bob were active in the community. Norma began her career as a schoolteacher. She left teaching to raise her children and became a travel agent later in life. In retirement, she lived in Fort Myers, Florida where she enjoyed playing golf and bridge at Fiddlesticks Country Club.
Norma loved to travel, and her adventures brought her all over the world, including India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kenya, South America, and Europe. Her favorite trips were the ones she arranged with the whole family, including the Galapagos, the Caribbean, and a cruise to Italy, Spain, and Greece. She was also a gourmet cook and enjoyed hosting five- course meals in her home with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed preparing and serving the traditional Italian seven fishes dinner on Christmas Eve.
Norma will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and friends. She will be remembered as a strong, smart, and generous woman. She stood up for what she believed in and cared deeply about each of her six grandchildren. A service will be held for Norma later in the year.
